Last year we had 8 Intrepids band together to participate in the 2013 BootCamp Challenge down in San Diego. Just yesterday I received an email promoting for this year’s BootCamp Challenge and the date has been set for September 27th. With such a good turn-out in 2013, the re-introduction of Speed & Endurance classes, and the overall experience, I think it would be a must to do it again this year. As always there are plenty of categories that we can sign up for. We can sign up to race as individuals or as a team. As a team you can run in 3’s or 5’s and mix and match males/females.
The 3 mile course is mainly flat and there are plenty of obstacles (hay stacks, over/under logs, push up stations, etc) that stand between you and the finish line. Don’t let the distance scare you. Last year we had a few folks who never ran more than a mile and ended up running the entire course. The obstacles do slow you down, but they are all manageable.
I would like to send at least 8 Intrepids again, hopefully more will be interested. I know it may be difficult to commit 7 months in advanced, but there is an Early Bird Promotion for this event if you sign up by the end of this month. Right now it would be $25 per person. I believe last year we signed up at $35/person. If you happen to be worried about performance at this event, sign up for Speed & Endurance classes to better help prepare you. Post to comments if you want to be a part of a team.
Also 70’s Big posted a video on “Who is the Sickest Squatter” between a Powerlifter, a Weightlifter, a Strongman, and a Bodybuilder. It is fun to watch so check it out.
