A Question of Quantity

By Marcus | In Challenges, Events and Announcements, Nutrition | on February 6, 2013

Team at the Shakedown

As someone that has been eating Paleo for over 4 years now, there’s not much that I haven’t already heard or read in that sphere. I say this not to brag, but to illustrate how significant it was that my mind was blown at the Whole9 Seminar I attended recently.

What set my head spinning was how most people under eat while on the Paleo diet and as much as I thought I had my sh*t locked down, I was just as guilty! The reaction from the crowd fell into pretty much one of two camps along gender lines. For example, my thought was “Awesome, I get to eat even more!”. On the other hand, when I recently shared this info with Alia, her reaction was “I have to eat how much??”

Whole9 has an great reference sheet over at their site in the free resources for their book It Starts With Food. Check out their handout and see if you are eating enough: Meal Planning Template

If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to help out. On that note, I didn’t hear any preference for a Thursday versus a Saturday for a mini-nutrition seminar. Sean and I made the decision to go with Saturday, February 23rd at 11:30am for a free 60 minute Whole30 kickoff session. This is your chance to get your nutrition questions answered just in time for the start of our Nutrition Challenge. Don’t miss out and sign up here!

Speaking of the challenge, there has been a little confusion due to the dunk signup book. It references a price of $49, which only would apply if you’re paying for a single dunk. The challenge costs $80 which covers two dunks — both before and after.

I have also set up a way for you to pay at the MindBody site via credit card. This link should get you there directly. If not, go to the “Series & Memberships” page.¬†Once there, choose “Workshops” and the “2013 Nutrition Challenge”.¬†Make sure to click yes to make a reservation and you’ll be taken to the payment page.

The last quick nutrition-related announcement is that next Wednesday is the due date for your February J&J Grassfed Beef order! You can place your order at their website any time between now and next Wednesday for delivery on Friday, February 22nd.

Awesome job with the links Marcus! Super efficient, I wish everything was that easy.

Agreed, very easy to sign up for online!

P.S. No WOD shopping today! :) This is a great benchmark workout to work on your mental toughness. Go in with a game plan: pick your row pace ahead of time, and decide how you want to break down the sets of thrusters and pullups, then stick to it!

    @ Holley, if I were a WOD shopper, I would’ve skipped YESTERDAY’s WOD.

@ Marcus and Sean – thanks in advance… if we already have questions or topics we’re thinking of, should we send your way in advance of the session?

@Amanda — absolutely, shoot me an email and I’ll add them to the agenda. I will add your current email to the list. I tried to email you back, but your work’s servers rejected the reply. :)

That same offer to send me questions goes for everyone, since if you have a question, undoubtedly someone else ALSO has that question. That’s part of the reason I wanted to do the group Q&A session.

Just got the book yesterday! Very interesting read so far!

Dude. Seriously. That’s so much more protein that I have ever eaten, in my life, on purpose. I mean accidentally eating 2 baby back ribs slathered in sauce has happened a few times in my life. Consuming un sugared animal flesh required much more planning and precise timing throughout the day. Not impossible, I’m exited. Thanks for all the links!
