Today is our dear little one’s birthday and we have a guest post from Michael H. to celebrate:
How does one attempt to write a roast in the presence of the true roast king, B! and to top it off, not get beat up because we’re roasting his wife to be, Anna.
Anna’s been CFI’ing for several years now, and despite all the efforts from our gym members, she still hasn’t broken out of her shell. If you haven’t met her, she’s a staple in the 7pm class, you can’t miss her, she’s that shy, quiet girl that keeps to herself and does everything Marcus says during Varsity hour.
Some think she’s that way to earn a gold star on the fridge as teachers pet because she’s so attentive and zones everybody out while the Emperor apportions his wisdom amongst us. Those are most days.
Those are the days I don’t look forward to. The days I look forward to is when Anna’s complete opposite sister, annA, comes in.
These are the days when she comes in with her shiny diva crown as the reigning HSPU queen and wreaks havoc by chatting it up with everyone, asking how you’re doing, cheering and pushing you on, kicking everyone’s asses on her favorite WODs… and on occasion driving her custom made 10 ton, triple reinforced armored bus (equipped with a booster seat so she can see over the steering wheel) as she drives it right over you for your own good.
Those are rare days but when she does come in it’s always a joy to be in that class because she brings in that extra energy and camaraderie that makes us all push beyond our limits.
Happy nth Birthday Anna! You’re swell.
