Today’s Guest Post comes from Celina’s hubby Patrick:

“I dunno, too long to count.” (as I stuff my face with Oreos)
“Well maybe you should do something about it.”
This was us back in 2009 before we learned about Crossfit. Celina has always led a lifestyle of fitness and is intrinsically motivated. I on the other hand needed, uh, “outside motivation” to go to the gym, and even when I did go I had no idea what I was doing. Celina was a Division I swimmer at the Air Force Academy, and was able to stay in pretty good shape after graduation. However, she felt that something was lacking, and she missed the team dynamic she had when participating in competitive sports. Crossfit has provided her answer. Back in Wyoming we completed the WODs in the Air Force gym as part of the base club. This was a great introduction and taught us the potential of this type of training. Unfortunately, that club was shut down, and we lost our motivation to continue doing Crossfit. But then we moved to Los Angeles, learned about CF Intrepid, and were given the opportunity to pick up where we left off! Since that time, Celina has progressed so much. When she began last fall, she could not even complete a pull up, do double-unders, or climb a rope. Now she can complete pull-up WODs with no bands, she kills dubs, and she even bought special socks so she can protect her legs when racing up and down the rope. Speaking of gear, I’m pretty sure she could be confused for a Lululemon sales rep any day of the week, but that’s another discussion! Since Celina would never brag about her accomplishments, I will go ahead and do it for her. Back in February, she placed first in the Whole30 challenge and recently placed second in the scaled division in the CFI Games. She even inspired a dozen of our friends and family to start a Whole30 challenge from her Facebook posts! While she is carefree and relaxed most days in the gym, most people do not know that Celina is fiercely competitive with herself, and will accomplish any goal she sets her mind to. This fire inspires me to do better every day.
