Today we celebrate Date Night’s birthday! Date Night can be found in the the Barbell class and usually doing a WOD in the 5pm class. He not only impresses us with the weight and times on the board, but also impresses us by being the awesome dude that he is. His wife, Keron, has kindly written a post about the birthday boy.
As many of you know, Matt is a health care entrepreneur who now owns and runs three separate businesses. He is also the father of two little girls, Karma and Maya. In the last 4 months he has packed up and moved our family between houses, built a patio in our back yard and a breakfast nook in our kitchen. He can color coordinate little girl dresses with bow-bows and I plan to teach him to braid hair. He knows the names and stories of all the Disney princesses and, when inspired, can change a diaper faster than I can. He is also a scratch golfer, although he doesn’t find much time to play anymore.
What I am saying is that Matt is a ‘doer’ and a father and a man. Although I would describe his life as infernally busy, he remains optimistic and enthusiastic. I’m not sure he would be able to strike this balance if he didn’t get to Intrepid 3 days a week. For his birthday, I would like to say ‘thank you’ to all of you intrepid athletes for spotting him and challenging him and laughing with him (or at him) and taking him out for beers. Partner WOD 4 Rounds for Time-
*While Partner A runs 400 Meters, Partner B will complete AMRAP of 10 Dumbbell Snatches on one side of the gym, then will do 15yd Bear Crawl, then 10 Box Jumps on opposite side of the gym, then Bear Crawl back to DB.
*Each Partner will run four 400m runs
