Today’s fantastic guest post comes from Tyler’s loving wife, Liz:
Team Intrepid – please join me in wishing the world’s best husband, Tyler Swanson, a Happy 32nd Birthday today! Tyler has such a great time competing with you all, especially his little brother Troy & best friend Daniel. It was awesome watching the Intrepid Games in September, you all work very hard at your sport and I couldn’t be prouder of my champ! Tyler’s secret sauce? He swears its BEER. Each night after his workout Tyler comes home to tell me exactly what the WOD consisted of, how many minutes he finished in, his max weight, etc. I’ll be honest, most of the time I have no idea what he is talking about – but I know he LOVES to press, clean & deadlift. His least favorite? Snatches. Sometimes I even get a demo! He always inspires me to “beastmode” in my own (less studly) workouts.
After surfing, checking the surf, watching surf contests, beastmoding & talking about beastmoding @ CrossFit Intrepid, Tyler loves to spend time with his family & 100+ friends. You’ll find Mr. Social Butterfly at El Segundo Brewing Company on Thursday nights and leading the charge on any bachelor party needing to be planned. He is my personal chef, 2nd amendment activist, TV show and movie expert, travel agent extraordinaire and the arch nemesis of our manly 5lb Chihuahua, Pancho. Life with Tyler is GOOD, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you Team Intrepid, for fueling his competitive fire and helping him get stronger, better & faster in his ripe old age!
Happy Birthday to my studly husband! Troy & I are excited to celebrate tonight with big ol’ steaks, chocolate soufflé and 1 or 2 “frosty beverages.” I love you!
A huge congratulations to Portia, who gave birth to Jessica Joy last Thursday. Baby and mama are doing well! And congrats to Johanna who is now a big sister!
