Urban Paleo Forager: Blue Salt Fish Grill

Based on glowing reviews from Nick, the trainers finally made a stop by Blue Salt Fish Grill in Redondo Beach to check things out. We’re all pretty lucky that there’s this growing trend of fish grills that offer many fresh, wild-caught selections along with often quite healthy sides. In the picture above, you can see that I went with the opah along with sweet potato fries and cole slaw. Not the best choices, but I’ll admit to being a little lax before our upcoming April challenge. They feature a variety of salsas and the one pictured is spicy avocado, which was very tasty with a good heat. Ruth and Sean also tried the ceviche, so I’ll let them comment on how they liked it.

The menu features a greater variety of fish that I’ve seen offered at Malibu or California, albeit at slightly higher prices. Their Mediterranean salad one-ups the one at Malibu by adding grilled red peppers, zucchini, eggplant to the mix. I will absolutely be trying that one in the future to see if the size is comparable to Malibu’s offering. If you’re in the neighborhood (hint: it’s really close to the CSA pickup store), I highly recommend trying Blue Salt out.

    today’s urban paleo forager should maybe have featured somewhere that serves corned beef and cabbage. 😉 SLAINTE!!!

    Picked up some corned beef at Whole Foods on the corner of Rosecrans and Sepulveda. It’s OK. 😉

    The ceviche wad pretty darn tasty as well. I went with the seared ahi which I enjoyed as well. We’ll definitely be making a trip back soon.
