Cavewomen Savvy

By admin | In Health & Lifestyle, Nutrition | on November 16, 2012

Sorry guys, this one’s for the ladies:

Most of our subject matter experts (SME’s) of nutrition, health, and wellness happen to be men: Robb Wolf, Mark Sisson, Marcus, etc. For men it boils down to eat meat, lift heavy, and crush WODs (ok, a little oversimplified!). However, we ladies are complex. We have periods, female problems ranging from cramps to mood swings, pregnancy and post-partum issues, and menopause. Short end of the stick, anyone?
Luckily we have resources such as Stefani Ruper, author of the Paleo for Women blog, who tackles the nitty gritty issues of the fairer sex.  Here are just a few of the articles I’ve found helpful so far:

Due to popular request, we’ll be holding a Row Off on December 8th during our morning classes.   There will be a $10 buy in and the top male and female winners will receive a gift certificate to Rogue Fitness or Lululemon Athletica.  Sign up on the birthday board in the gym.

WOD 11.16.12

Deadlift 1×5 or Wendler

Bruins Vs Trojans

6 Pull Ups
8 Burpees
10 Box Jumps

Come dressed supporting UCLA or USC! At the end of the day, we’ll tally up all the Bruin and Trojan scores and see which fans have more spirit!

Great post, Ruth! Thanks for the resources. If there’s anything that’ll get women to sign up for a rowing competition, it’s Lulu! :)
