CFI Games: Movement Standards II

By admin | In Competition | on September 18, 2012

Last week I posted the movement standards for burpees and pull ups for our in-house competition. This week, the videos detail movement standards for kettlebell snatches (open) and toes to bar (scaled/open).

For the kettlebell snatch, the standards for a full rep are the following:

  • the kettlebell must be taken from below knee height to overhead in one continuous motion.
  • finish position is with hips and knees fully extended, while the snatching arm is completely locked out overhead. Judge should see a portion of the athlete’s ear in front of the snatching arm.
  • free hand must not be touching the body (ie pushing on the knee or thigh)

See this post for more tips.

For the toes to bar:

  • athlete’s feet must touch the bar simultaneously anywhere from the instep to the toes.
  • at the bottom of the swing, the athlete’s feet must pass the vertical plane (see video)

See this post and video from Again Faster for more tips.

In case anyone missed it, Jason wished Date Nite a very happy birthday and the comment is well worth reading! Click here.

Holy crap Jason’s post is hilarious. Although not as potent as DateNite’s tears it brought tears of laughter to my eyes. #9 = Awesome!

Ridiculous. Did you take creative writing in college? You must have been inspired by Stanford crushing U$C’s dreams.
