We trainers stress the importance of focusing your training by setting goals, or entering yourself into competitions. Nothing gives your training more meaning than a particular deadline on the calendar that you are reaching towards. By now, you may have heard of several Intrepids heading out on August 25th for a team competition called the Shakedown Series.
If you didn’t get in on that particular event, yet still want to test your mettle, I was just made aware of another event that same day. Not only is the AAU holding a powerlifting meet that day (you already know I’d encourage you to try that out!), but they are also testing something new this time — feats of strength.
Looking down the list, I see some items that we do in the gym on a regular basis and others that could easily be in the wheelhouse of many. Take a peek:
While we highly encourage you to cheer on your fellow Intrepids at the Shakedown, we understand if you want to get your own hands dirty. From the AAU’s form, you can enter as little as one event, or all of them and the entry fee is very reasonable. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll forward you the flier!
