The CFI Games are finally here! In less than 3 hours WOD 1 will be underway. Over the past few days you all have received information and tips on our first annual games. I know most of you have taken the time to read all the recent posts to get prepared for this event. Make sure to show up on time for check in and give yourselves plenty of time before your heat to warm-up. Bring water and snacks to keep you fueled. There are also many more tips from Thursday and yesterdays post. Most importantly remember to have fun today and put in the 100% effort that you are capable of. Below is the heat list in case you have forgotten what heat you are in.
This past week most athletes toned down the training in order to conserve all their will and skill for today. Fortunately, there were a few notable PRs.
On Monday we had a double lift that consisted of bench press and back squat. Laura was able to knock out her 3×5 set at 73lbs. Kathy, after having successful lifts, managed to get her first kipping pull up.
Tuesday’s lift was the clean. The goal was to work up to a heavy set of two repetitions. Tom D. had work sets at 155-165-175. 175lbs being his new PR. Nice job Tom!
On skills day the class consisted of individual mobility and skills time. David P. was able to get his first kipping pull up. Mike K. worked on his overhead squats during free time and knocked out 3 reps at 155lbs.
Our last PR came today as Jenica got her first dub!
I can’t wait to see all of you in action today. Good luck!!!
