In yesterday’s post recapping the 2014 Winter Shakedown, you read each competitor’s thoughts on their performance including things they want to improve on. As our CrossFit competitors take status of their areas of improvement, I encourage each and every one of you to do the same. It’s been a few months since we last asked everyone to update their goals on the goal board, so take some time after reading this to evaluate your recent performance, your previous goals, where you stand, and where you’d like to be in the next few months. Tomorrow, the board will be wiped clean and ready to record everyone’s updated goals. Use the guidelines in the info-graphic above when formulating your goal to give yourself a better chance of succeeding and making objective progress.
Speaking of objective, measurable results…are you not too sure about your weak spots? The CrossFit Open begins this Thursday and the workouts are infamous at exposing chinks in one’s armor. For a $20 registration fee you can compare your performance to your friends, fellow Intrepids, and athletes all over the world to give you better insight on where you stand. Sure you have to “donate” $20 to CrossFit HQ for the honor of competing, but don’t let yourself be put off by the CrossFit Games workouts you’ve likely seen on ESPN. The Open workouts will be challenging, no doubt, but they’ll also be very do-able for the majority. So much so that as CF Open workouts are announced each Thursday, Friday’s CrossFit Intrepid WOD (workout of the day) will be the week’s respective CF Open workout. Everyone has their own reasons for signing up whether it’s to try and make the Regionals competition, to compare their performance to past years’ performances, to objectively evaluate their performance compared to their peers and set better goals, or many other reasons, so be part of Team Intrepid and stay tuned for the first CF Open workout being announced this Thursday at 5pm PT followed by a live demonstration of the workout by top CF athletes at venues around the US. Follow all the announcement and details here, and be sure to sign yourself up for the 2014 CrossFit Open.
