Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is among the leading killers of Americans, and more than 90% of the people who experience SCA die. This survival rate has not significantly improved in more than 30 years, and the HeartRescue Project is about changing that.
My dad sent me this great link the other day that takes you step by step through the process of saving someone who is in cardiac arrest. I have taken CPR courses and familiar with the technique, but have never been trained on a defibrillator. The interactive video isn’t super detailed and isn’t very long, but it gives you the basics on how to handle a SCA situation and how to use a defibrillator. Try it out below:
Many of our posts focus on doing healthy things for your body and often times we go out and share our experiences about leading healthier lives. Now I ask you all to take the time to try out this interactive educational tool and then pass it along to others. Hopefully none of you will ever have to save someone who is in cardiac arrest, but you’ll be one more person that can help in the case that you do.
