Recently Vik got a new job far far away and will no longer be a regular at Intrepid. While we’re all happy for him, it’ll be sad to see him go. Vik has come a long way since his trial class back in December 2011. In fact, he made me look like a slave driver when he “christened” our brand new mats half an hour into class. I take full responsibility for it as I’m sure my then-pregnant hormones were making me cranky and I’m sure I pushed him too hard! 😉
Most impressively though, he came back. Again and again, Vik came back and has made such impressive gains this last year. I distinctly remember Anna asking him if he was buying smaller shirts or if he just got so buff he made his shirts look small! No doubt about it, Vik has diligently worked on his goats with as much conviction as he did his strengths. When any trainer gave him advice on what homework to do to work on imbalances, immobility, etc, he would come in before class and stay after to work on them. A sight that warms our hearts!
A natural acrobat, his goal was not the HSPU, but the one arm HSPU. He also gave Cade a dumbbell rattle, our boy’s first piece of athlete equipment. Over this last year, Vik has left quite an impression on us and we won’t forget his good natured, easy going attitude, his dry witty humor, or his unfortunate penchant for sweets and cardinal/gold apparel.
We wish you well Vik, and be sure to come visit us when you can!
