Intrepid Holiday Cookbook

By admin | In Challenges | on November 16, 2010

Halloween Costume WOD

Since this holiday party will be our first official Homecoming, we figured it would be a good opportunity to make it extra special (and oh so functional) by having everyone submit their favorite recipes to compile into the CFI Cookbook.  To get a copy of this cookbook, you have to submit a recipe! Email them to me no later than Dec 1st to be included.

The only hard and fast rule will be that it has to follow the guidelines from the August challenge and be preferably a creation (or modified recipe) of your own. They don’t have to be holiday recipes, but they have to be Paleo OR Primal. If you do submit a recipe that was created by someone else, just be sure to credit them appropriately when you submit it.

The only exception we’ll make is in the cocktail section where sugar-free creations with distilled liquors are welcome (a la nor cal margaritas). I’m sure I may regret opening that up, as this may be the largest chapter of our cookbook! (Note: this does not give you carte blanche to begin ‘sampling’ all sorts of cocktail recipes from now until the party!! cough…Brian…cough)

I love this idea Ruth! Buuuuut…. I don’t have any of MY OWN creations. I like to say I’m a good cook, but not a chef….meaning I like to cook and can follow a recipe, but I don’t create anything off the top of my head. That’s a whole different level that I really respect.

I have plenty of recipes to share. I just found some this past week in Bobby Flay’s Grilling for Life.

    -Grilled Marinated Zucchini & Squash
-Spanish Spiced Chicken w/ Mustard Green Onion Sauce
    -Guacamole (my friend Emily’s recipe)

I’ll try to find some more….

Me, Mike and Maile just signed up for the 31st Annual Torrance Turkey Trot. It’s a 3 mile fun run at 8a on Turkey Day. Here is the info: http://www.torranceca.gov/Parks/20996.htm

Sorry Steph, but FUN and RUN never belong in the same sentence, unless it is “I had SO much fun NOT running”
