When we hear the word mobility, your mind often wanders to stretches and rolling, but we don’t always think about how the basic things we do all day, such as sitting in a chair and texting, affect our mobility. Most of us spend our days at work sitting at a desk, and then go on to spend much of the rest of your day surfing the internet, playing games or texting on our smart phones. Last week, a friend showed me this great post on MobilityWod called “Slow Death by Text.” It is a hilarious approach to explaining the proper position to hold while sitting at a desk or texting. After watching this video I focused on my posture as much as I could, and my muscles were actually sore by the end of the week. It showed me just how bad my posture was and what I had to gain just by sitting up properly at my desk. Try it out!
