Yesterday was an exciting and busy day for the Intrepid family. The day began with Mike competing at the Next Level Invitational at the OC Fairgrounds, and finished with the Intrepid holiday party. The first WOD was definitely to Mike’s strength, a 4.4K run which he finished in a blistering 18:30. The second WOD was 4 minutes to max hang snatch and Mike tied his snatch PR of 125#, and was so close to 135#. After a 1 minute rest, they moved on to a 1K bike, which I can only imagine the difficulty after just running a 4.4K. Mike sprinted though the 1K bike in 1:28. The final WOD of the day was a chipper WOD similar to the one everyone did on Friday. The most challenging part of the workout was 20 handstand push-ups, but Mike fought his way through them and made it most of the way through the WOD. Mike ended up finishing 46th out of over 100 athletes. We were all so proud of what Mike accomplished and it was really fun to watch him compete! Great work, Mike! Way to represent us!
The night ended with the Intrepid holiday party with great friends and tons of delicious food! The CFI Christmas gift was presented and we will be expecting our brand new yoke to arrive soon! I’m sure we’re all looking forward to seeing it show up in a WOD sometime in the near future. Thanks so much to everyone for your contributions!
