Good morning everyone! This past week we had one of the biggest PRs to date. Ruth and Sean happily expanded their family by adding baby Cade! Congrats to you both and we all can’t wait to meet the little guy.
With the gym temporally closed, due to Ruth and Sean doing the “Cade” WOD, business picked back up on Thursday. Normally I coach 9am on Saturdays, but this week I had the privilege of coaching the morning classes. It was nice to work with 630 and 730 classes. They started off the day just right. The lift for the day was bench press and Casey hit an Intrepid PR of 100lbs. Brady knocked out 185lbs for 4 reps on his Wendler 1 week. The WOD that followed really sucked, hence the name “Sucktoberfest.” It was 1 minute stations for 2 rounds of burpees, row, pull-ups, tire flips (or fire tips as Michelle likes to call it), and ball slams. There were some impressive numbers throughout the day. Mike H. hit 45 and 31 on his pull-ups. Brady got into the mix with his 39 pull-ups. Patrice and Tami got 28 slam balls, which is no easy task.
Friday we started with back squat. Francis hit a PR of 155lbs for a 3×5. He definitely gutted his way through it. Well done! Morgan did 14 reps at 135lbs. The WOD was a couplet of kettle bell swings and sprints. It was 10 rounds of 10 KBS and 100m runs with a 1 minute rest between rounds. The morning class set the bar for the day. They all did very well and averaged close to the same time per round.
Post any PRs that I may have missed.
