Our trainers put together a really fun challenge for us this month in the El Segundo Scavenger Hunt! It was a lot of work for them to put together, but it ended up being a blast for everyone who participated. There was a lot to be done, so it required covering a lot of distance in only an hour and a half. Some of the tasks required you to step outside of your comfort zone, such as bear crawling across the Grand and Main intersection or fireman carrying a stranger. Other tasks required some CrossFit skills, like getting in a hold on top of a pull-up bar, doing a pull-up on a tree branch or dual handstands on a flagpole. As I think many would agree, the most fun tasks involved the lucky El Segundo community members like, getting a mid-air chest bump photo or video of a perfect burpee (which a surprising number of people rolled their eyes and said “oh no” with the mention of that movement). The unexpected result was the excitement of the community members to be involved in our scavenger hunt and how neat they thought it was that our gym put an event like this together. Maybe now a few more people in El Segundo have a little bit of insight into the fun family we have at CrossFit Intrepid.
The winners of the scavenger hunt were Kara and Jenica! My partner and I passed by them multiple
times, always on a mission and sprinting to the next task. Below is a photo summary of some of their
tasks, they certainly appeared to be having some fun!
